Upon reaching the site, you will ascend through the dunes to a traditional camp, where the welcoming sound of the Nijr invites you to sit into one of the beautifully adorned tents for traditional coffee and dates. The evenings activities begin with a lesson in wearing the traditional Saudi shemagh and jewelry (hama), before you join your fellow guests to learn the art of making Saudi coffee in the traditional manner, including the unique way Saudis infuse their coffee with spices. Next, you’ll be taken around the camp, learning about traditional palm weaving, Sadu, leben and ghee production, and the significance of Bedouin swords. After exploring the camp, you’ll be shown one of the oldest forms of bread making known to man: Bedouin firebread, and enjoy an on-site prepared traditional mandi. Burning oud and medicinal desert plants are brought out and explained before the evening concludes with an extraordinary stargazing experience followed by joining in a traditional dance.
